Yamil’s practice focuses on government investigations, commercial litigation, banking and financial institution litigation, and other business disputes in federal and state court. Given his background as a career law clerk for various federal district and magistrate judges, Yamil uses his knowledge of the inner-workings of district courts to help navigate clients through often complex legal proceedings.
Yamil received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2008. Yamil obtained his bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Texas–Pan American (now UT Rio Grande Valley), where he studied classical violin and performed with the nationally-recognized UTPA Mariachi.
Before joining Davis & Santos, Yamil served as a career law clerk to the Honorable Diana Saldaña, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Texas in the Laredo Division. He also served in the Laredo Division as a law clerk to the Honorable J. Scott Hacker, U.S. Magistrate Judge.
