Landon Hankins

Landon Hankins is an associate attorney at Davis & Santos. Before joining Davis & Santos, Landon served as a briefing attorney to Justice Irene Rios of the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals. While serving as a briefing attorney, Landon advised and assisted the Court in resolving appeals in various areas of the law, including business litigation, tax disputes, financial litigation, probate law, governmental immunity, personal injury, family law, and education law. While in law school, Landon served as a judicial extern for U.S. Magistrate Judge David L. Horan of the Northern District of Texas, a litigation intern at Samsung Electronics America, Inc., and a legal intern with the City of McAllen Legal Department. As a Spanish speaker Landon is able to assist Spanish-speaking clients as well financial institutions with disputes involving transactions in Mexico.


Landon received his J.D., with honors, from SMU Dedman School of Law in 2017. While at SMU, Landon served as Articles Editor for the SMU Law Review Association and as Clinic Chief in the SMU Civil Clinic. Landon graduated summa cum laude from Howard Payne University with a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish in 2013. At HPU, Landon was a Sumners Scholar and a graduate of the Guy D. Newman Honors Academy for Public Policy, where in 2013 he received the Best Thesis Award for his work on partisan gerrymandering. Additionally, during his undergraduate years, Landon studied at the Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems in Washington, D.C., interned at National Defense University’s Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies, and studied abroad in Central America, where he studied Spanish and Latin American politics and lived with host families.
