Rachel Garza is an associate at Davis & Santos. Her practice focuses on civil litigation.

Prior to joining Davis & Santos, Rachel served as a public defender with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. As a public defender, her practice focused on defending hundreds of individuals charged with state misdemeanor and felony offenses. Additionally, Rachel handled dozens of appeals and presented oral argument before the San Antonio Fourth Court of Appeals sitting en banc.

While in law school, Rachel served as an intern for Justice Liza A. Rodriguez at the Fourth Court of Appeals and an intern for Judge Brenda Hull Thompson at the Dallas County Probate Court. Rachel was a member of the nationally ranked moot court team at St. Mary’s University School of Law.  While on the moot court team, Rachel competed as an oral advocate in competitions nationwide. During her second year of law school, Rachel served as a staff writer on The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race and Social Justice.

Rachel has presented on numerous legal topics. She was an immigration panelist for the Texas Senate Hispanic Caucus Legal Summit in 2022 and has been a continuing legal education presenter on various state criminal law topics.
