Landon Hankins is a senior associate at Davis & Santos. His practice focuses on complex business litigation, financial institution litigation, commercial litigation and appellate litigation.
Prior to joining Davis & Santos, Landon served as a briefing attorney to Justice Irene Rios of the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals. In this role, Landon advised and assisted the Court in resolving appeals in various areas of the law, including business litigation, tax disputes, financial litigation, probate law, governmental immunity, personal injury, family law, and education law.
While in law school, Landon served as a judicial extern for U.S. Magistrate Judge David L. Horan of the Northern District of Texas, a litigation intern at Samsung Electronics America, Inc., and a legal intern with the City of McAllen Legal Department. Fluent in Spanish, Landon is able to assist Spanish‐speaking clients, as well financial institutions with disputes involving transactions in Mexico. He also served as Articles Editor for the SMU Law Review Association and as Clinic Chief for SMU Law’s Civil Clinic.
Additionally, while pursuing his undergraduate degree, Landon studied at the Institute on Comparative Political and Economic Systems in Washington, D.C., interned at National Defense University’s Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies, and studied abroad in Central America , where he studied Spanish and Latin American politics and lived with host families.
