Today, Landon Hankins, a senior associate with the firm, presented to the Southwest Association of Bank Counsel (SWABC) for one of SWABC’s Banking 101 webinars.  Landon’s presentation was titled “Navigating Collections Claims in Probate Court” and discussed issues that banks and bank counsel should consider when the borrower or guarantor on a loan passes away, a comparison of the process for presenting claims in dependent administrations versus independent administrations, and the different classifications for secured claims in probate proceedings.
